Maharashtra: 22 patients die after Oxygen leaks from cylinder

n a heart-wrenching incident, 22 Covid-19 patients died due to lack of oxygen supply in Nashik. This incident took place in Zakir Hussain municipal Hospital. Panic stuck the patients and their families members as the oxygen supply was stopped in the hospital. visuals went viral which shows the families trying to help patients as they gasp for breath.

According to District Collector information, the oxygen tanker outside the hospital in Maharashtra city caused supply to be halted for around 30 minutes.  As per the information all these patients were oxygen-dependent or were on ventilators. Maharashtra Health Minister, Rajesh Tope has promised and said that the Government will look into the matter and conduct a thorough probe, he also said that" The leakage was spotted at the oxygen tanks which were supplying oxygen to these patients. The interrupted supply could be linked to the deaths of the patients."

Around 31 patients out of 80 need to be shifted to another hospital and fire trucks have been rushed to the spot to stop the leak.

Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, "I am distressed to hear the news of the accident of oxygen leak in a hospital in Nashik. I express my deepest condolences on this irreparable loss of those who have lost their loved ones in this incident. I pray to God for the efficiency of all the other patients."

Meanwhile, Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, State Minister, Aditya Thackrey, Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi also tweet their grief regarding this horrific incident.
