Covid Hospitals to be set up by DRDO in Lucknow, Varanasi and Ahmedabad

ncrease in Covid-19 cases has created a shortage of beds in some specific regions. Cases are rising gradually whereas arrangements are being done to normalize the condition. As per the announcement done by Dr Satheesh Reddy, The chairman of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) it is due to set up a 450-bed hospital in Lucknow, a 750-bed hospital in Varanasi and a 900-bed hospital in Ahmedabad.

Defence Minister also said that, the construction of Covid-19 care hospital at Awadh Shilp Gram in Lucknow is at war footing. The officials also said that the facility will have ICU wards with ventilators along with oxygen beds as well for Covid patients. The pucca structure is being used to build the hospital.  DRDO has also set up a facility in Delhi, which has oxygen beds, a large number of ventilators, zero charges and basic testing facilities and air conditioning. It has also developed SpO2 (Blood Oxygen Saturation)supplemental Oxygen Delivery which can be used to moderate the Covid-19  patients for oxygen flow therapy

As per the data by Union Health Ministry,  India registered 2,59,170 New Covid-19 cases and 1,761 deaths in the last 24 hours.
