har Dham Yatra has been cancelled for the year 2021, on Monday portals of the Kedarnath temple were opened, and the opening ceremony was held at 5 am. Due to the Covid-19 situation it was not allowed for the devotees to physically attend this opening and it was shown online "Darshan". Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat tweeted that Kedarnath Shrine has reopened today at 5.am with all the rituals, "I pray Baba Kedarnath to keep everyone healthy", he added.

In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, The char Dham Devasthanam board has decided to suspend the famous Char Dham Yatra but the board has made necessary preparations for a virtual visit. This will facilitate millions of devotees all across the country to get a darshan of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri Dhams shrines through virtual means. According to PTI, no more than 25 people each including priests, teerth purohits and district administration officials, will attend the opening ceremony at Yamunotri and Gangotri which will be low key affairs.
