PM Modi visits Delhi's Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib,

n the 400th Birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi visited Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi today. He offered prayers and extended his greetings to the nation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that, "On the special occasion of his 400th Prakash Purab, I bow to Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. He is widely respected globally for his courage and his efforts to serve the downtrodden. He refused to bow to his tyranny and injustice. His supreme sacrifice gives strength and motivation to many."

Earlier this month the Prime Minister held a high-level meeting to commemorate the 400 birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. He also suggested that it is important for the new generation of the nation to know and understand the stages of the Sikh Gurus' life. He said that India would pay a fitting tribute to Guru Teg Bahadur on his 400th Prakash Purab, as the nation battles with the second wave of covid-19 pandemic more celebrations have been cancelled off. This meeting was attended by Chief Minister of Punjab Amrinder Singh, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. 

Meanwhile, no security arrangements were made for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he walked without any security forces.
