Delhi: Traders association writes to CM, requests not to extend lockdown

he National Traders Association (NTDA) on Friday wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal requesting him to not extend the lockdown further. They urged the CM to open markets in a phased manner with "Struct Enforcement of laws". Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has imposed the lockdown till 10 May after which it was extended till 17 May due to the high number of cases in the National Capital.

According to PTI, Atul Bhargava, President of The National Traders Association (NTDA), said that nobody was in favour of lockdown since the beginning, but they had no option ad Covid-19 cases were rising, he said now we think that the Government instead of extending lockdown should open the markets in a phased manner with strict laws and proper sanitization". He also mentioned that the traders who stood with the nation," At All difficult times, are now in dire need for support from the Government and claimed that the umpteen letters" written to the powers that be for help have fallen on deaf ears.
