ormer captain of the Indian cricket team and the present president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been hospitalized in Kolkata  after sudden illness when he complained of ‘uneasiness’. He reportedly felt dizzy when he was at the gym after his workout session on Saturday and from there he was immediately taken to Woodlands hospital in Kolkata after finding a ‘mild cardiac arrest’ aroused. He is now expected to undergo further treatments along with angioplasty.

The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee tweeted to say that the former captain suffered a ‘mild cardiac arrest’ and wished him a speedy recovery. She added “Sad to hear that @SGanguly99 suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said in a tweet Ganguly is now stable and is responding well to treatments.The BCCI’s official twitter handle too tweeted wishing Ganguly a speedy recovery. On Wednesday the BCCI president had visited the Eden Garden stadium to discuss the preparations of the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament with the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal Avishek Dalmiya, secretary Snehashis Ganguly and joint secretary Debabrata Das were also present.

Ganguly had also cleared earlier this week the air of him joining politics ahead of the upcoming state assembly polls in West Bengal after he stated that he had gone to meet the Governor of the State Jagdeep Dhankhar upon invitation
