T

he first appearance of monolith in India emerges in a garden in the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat. A monolith is a structure made of shiny steel sheets that is now spotted in India after it appeared and vanished in November in different parts of the country.

The mystery around the object did not last long unlike other parts of the world as it was disclosed that it was installed by a private company. It was a seven feet tall triangular prism shaped object and became popular among city dwellers. The garden where the monolith was spotted is jointly managed by the Municipal Corporation and Symphony Limited situated in Thaltej area near a gurdwara. The garden was one of the prime attractions in the cita and was recently inaugurated by the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

The Director of Ahmedabad’s Municipal Corporation Department, Jignesh Patel said, “The monolith has been placed there by Symphony Ltd which also takes care of the Garden. The structure has been installed by the company for the visitors. People can see their reflections on the shiny surfaces of the structure and take selfies.”

The monolith was installed by Symphony Ltd on December 29 but it only gained major popularity since Thursday with people flocking the garden. However to keep the mysteries alive the company did not make any official announcement except it shared some photos of the structure of the forest park on the Forest Park’s facebook page on December 29.

The monolith which appeared in 30 other countries later, had first emerged in the remote desert of Utah in the United States of America.
