PM Modi Launches Ayushmaan Bharat Scheme For J&K.

nbsp;Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the Ayushman Bharat Scheme to expand the health insurance coverage to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. in an event  via video conferencing, The Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Territory’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha were also present.

The scheme will set the seal on universal health coverage and its will mainly focus on giving financial risk protection and will ensure quality and affordable essential health services to all individuals and communities of Jammu and Kashmir said the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)

PMO also added that  Under this scheme all the residents of J&K will receive a free-of-cost insurance cover and it will extend financial cover up to 5 lakh rupees per family on a floater basis to the entire resident of the Union Territory (UT) . In a statement of the PMO it states that there is a provision for operational extension of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) which reaches 15 lakh families approximately and the Ayushman Bharat Scheme will operate on insurance mode in convergence with the PM-JAY. The sake of the scheme will be conveyable across the country and all the hospitals functioning under the PM-JAY will provide services under this scheme as well.
