India’s Youngest Mayor Likely From Kerala.

rya Rajinder a Bsc Maths second year student at the All Saints College in Kerala contested in recent civic polls and won from the Madhuvanmughal ward of the city’s corporation and bagged 2872 votes against her rival candidate from the Congress. She is now likely to become the next Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram, said sources of the CPI(M) this Friday. The district secretariat of Thiruvananthapuram of the Marxist party recommended her name at the meeting and the state secretariat has to ratify the recommendation in the meeting scheduled on Saturday in the city. The state secretarial will make announcements on five out of the six corporations by Saturday.

Arya is an activist of the Student Federation of India (SFI) and the state president of Balasangam which is the children’s wing of the Left Party. The media when tried to contact her about the recommendation, she said that the party will take the best decision and she has not received any information from the party other than the media reporters.

The present mayor of Thiruvanatharam K Sreekumar (CPI-M) has seen a shocking defeat in the recent civic polls of the state.
