113 FIRs filed over Covid-19 profiteering

alking about the crisis during the second wave of Covid-19, where National Capital has become an epicentre for scarcity for resources. Where arranging resources have become like worship, people are standing in a 6 to 8 hours queue to refill oxygen cylinders and to arrange Remdesivir and other medical drugs.

Meanwhile, Delhi police have registered around 113 FIRs against the ones who are making a profit during the crisis. Around 100 persons till the date have been arrested, 61 cases for duping people after promising to help them with vital drugs for Covid-19 and medical injection, and 52 cases against black marketing, hoarding and overcharging. 

According to Police spokesperson, Chinmoy Biswal  "We have registered 113 FIRs till May 4 out of which 61 are related to fraud in the name of providing medical help or oxygen,52 are related to black marketing and overcharging. We have also arrested 100  people in this case. In one day alone, taking cognizance of Covid-19 helpline and cyber helpline calls and reports,37 cases of cheating has been registered  and investigations were taken up"
