NEET- PG postponed

rime Minister Narendra Modi has increased several steps to increase the human resources invested in fighting covid 19, including deferring NEET-PG for four months. The decision has been taken to ensure the availability of more medical personnel due to the covid-19 pandemic. Besides,  all such professionals who work for a minimum of 100 days of duty will receive the Prime Minister’s Distinguished covid National Service Award from the Government of India.

The decision to deploy final year MBBS students as medical interns for corona duties under the supervision of their faculty in a paid internship rotation, in a bid to reduce the burden on the existing medical staff. Moreover, B.Sc./GNM qualified nurses will be also utilized in full-time Covid nursing duties under the supervision of senior doctors and nurses.

All the medical professionals affianced in Covid related work would be fully vaccinated and will be covered under the Insurance Scheme of Government for health workers engaged in fighting the pandemic. Untimely, the decision by the  Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan postponed the NEET PG exam which was scheduled to begin on April 18. Now the decision has been taken keeping the well-being of  young  medical students in mind.
