ndian captain Virat Kohli on Monday received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. Kohli shared an Instagram story while getting vaccinated and wrote, "Vaccinate as soon as possible".

Yesterday, Kohli expressed his gratitude to health workers and paramedics who helped everyone through the difficult times in the fight against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma have joined hands with pro-Ketto speaker to launch their 'In This Together' fundraising campaign to raise Rs 7 crores to help India in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. They also donated Rs 2 crores to the campaign.

Meanwhile, Indian pacer Ishant Sharma and his wife Pratima Singh also received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on Monday. "Thank you for this and thank you for all the frontline staff. I'm glad to see the efficiency of this facility and management. Let's all be vaccinated at first," Ishant wrote on his Twitter account.

Last week, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, and Umesh Yadav too took the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

The Indian team will travel to England on June 2 for a three-and-a-half-month trip which includes six Test matches including the World Test Championship final against New Zealand.
