Honda two-wheelers India Temporary Halts Production Across All 4 Plants

onda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) says that it will complete its annual plant maintenance activities prematurely during the period of temporary stoppage of production. Based on the current Covid situation and market recovery, Honda will review its production plan in the months ahead.

HMSI has announced a temporary halt of production at all 4 plants. This decision will come into effect from 1 May 2021 and will cease production till 15 May. In view of the increasing cases of Covid-19 in the country, the situation becoming serious and the small lockdown in various cities, Honda Two Wheelers has taken this decision.

HMSI says that it will complete its annual plant maintenance activities prematurely during the period of temporary stoppage of production. Based on the current Covid situation and market recovery, Honda will review its production plan in the months ahead. The employees of Honda's offices will continue to work from home to break the chain of Covid transition and customers and business partners will continue to have all possible support. All the plants and offices of Honda Two Wheelers will have staff connected with only essential work. Honda has plants in Manesar in Haryana, Tapukara in Rajasthan, Narsapura in Karnataka and Vithalapur in Gujarat.

A day before Maruti Suzuki India (Maruti Suzuki) announced the closure of its factories in Haryana from May 1 to 9. This is so that medical oxygen can be supplied to serious patients of Corona. During this time there will be no production in the company's factories. Maruti Suzuki said in a statement that its factories use very little oxygen to make cars, while the gas is widely used to make parts. The company believes that whatever oxygen is available in the current situation should be used to save people's lives. In view of this, the company has decided to shut down the factories for maintenance before the scheduled time. The factories were to be closed in June for the first maintenance. Suzuki Motor Gujarat has also decided to close its factory during this period.
