alman Khan turned a year older on Sunday and decided to keep the celebration low-key as he spent his birthday with his family and close friends at his Panvel farmhouse. Khan who turned 55 interacted with a select media and cut a cake in the early hours of Sunday.

“There is no celebration this year, it’s just me and my family here and no one else. I wasn’t in a mood to celebrate my birthday as this has been a terrible year for everyone and a lot of people from the industry have passed away. So, it doesn’t call for celebration. I just hope everyone is happy, healthy and safe and are wearing masks. Keep washing your hands and maintain social distancing so that everybody remains safe,” Khan said.

The Dabang star also appealed his fans to follow COVID-19 protocols and not throng outside his home in suburban Bandra further informing that he is not at home.  “The love and affection of my fans over the year has been overwhelming on my birthdays but this year it is my humble request not to crowd outside my house keeping the COVID pandemic and social distancing norms in mind,” Khan informed through a notice displayed outside his building.

Bollywood stars also send their virtual wishes to Salman khan. Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a young black and white photo the actor saying “Happy birthday Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Forever superstar.” Actress Madhuri Dixit posted a picture on Twitter, she wrote: “Happy Birthday @BeingSalmanKhan Hope you have a Wonderful, Happy and Healthy Day.”

Not only Bollywood but Tollywood also extended their warm wishes for Khan. Actor Venkatesh Daggubati shared a picture with Sultan star saying, “Happy birthday to the most Amazing warm and kind hearted friend and brother. Wishing you happiness, success and good health always. @BeingSalmanKhan #HBDSalmanKhan.” Actor Mahesh Babu wrote, “Wishing the super cool @BeingSalmanKhan a very happy birthday! Good health, happiness and peace always.”
