ctor Rajkummar Rao gained the muscular weight to play a cop in Badhaai Do and logged on to his Instagram to share a sight of his new look, with a catchy caption. He posted a photo of himself without a shirt during the exercise and revealed that he would be experiencing a major physical change for this role."#WorkInProgress #NEWtan To get a new look for a new character, you need to find a new body and a new mind. #BadhaiDo #BeMehnati," he wrote in his post.
Casting director now a filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra commented, "Kya baat hai mee tiger (Wow, my tiger)." Fans also couldn’t stop spurting over Rajkummar’s work in the process. “Wooowww my beautiful hero,” wrote one. "Katai tabahi (killer) body sir," remarked one. "You changed the game brother," wrote the third.
Badhaai Do, which also stars Bhumi Pednekar as a PT teacher, is a sequel to 2018 hit Badhaai Ho. The original film was about a middle-aged woman with grown children who became pregnant, and how her family and community reacted to the news. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Sanya Malhotra.
Director Harshavardhan Kulkarni had previously said that Badhaai Do would be ‘focusing on the major society issue’. “All I can say is that Badhaai Do is a family-friendly film like Badhaai Ho, only the world that we created this time is very diverse. It goes from a small town to a big city and then, to something else. There are so many colors and theateric drama to it, ”he said.
Rajkummar last appeared in Hansal Mehta's Chhalanga alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. The film was released on Amazon Prime Video last month.
Rajkumar's upcoming projects include Netflix film The White Tiger starring Priyanka Chopra, Rooh Afzaa with Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma, and comedy by Dinesh Vijan starring Kriti Sanon.
