Kamala Harris receives COVID-19 vaccine Live on television

nited States Vice President- elect Kamala Harris received the coronavirus vaccine live on television on Tuesday. She got the first dose of Moderna coronavirus vaccine and encouraged the fellow Americans to get themselves vaccinated as and when their turn arrives. As per the Biden- Harris transition team, the vaccine was administered by Patricia Cummings, a clinical nurse manager at United Medical Center.

Harris said," I want to encourage everyone to get the vaccine. It is relatively painless. It happens really quick. It is safe." She further added," I want to remind people that right in your community is where you can take the vaccine, where you will receive the vaccine, by folks you may know, folks who are otherwise working in the same hospital where your children were born. Folks who are working in the same hospital where an elderly relative received the kind of care that they needed." Harris also thanked the United Medical Center for the work they do in Southeast (Washington) D.C by serving the community which is often overlooked.

President- elect Joe Biden received the vaccine one week prior to Harris so as to keep a gap in the inoculation period, if in case they experience any side- effects of the vaccine. Harris' husband Doug Emhoff too was to be vaccinated
