DMRC temporarily shuts entry of 5 metro stations: Covid-19

n Tuesday, the Delhi metro temporarily closed the entry of five metro stations. These five stations include New Delhi, Chandni Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Rajiv Chowk and MG road. This has been closed to ensure social distancing as a part of crowd control measures. According to the tweet by DMRC, Entry for New Delhi, Chandni Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Rajiv Chowk and MG road has been temporarily closed to ensure social distancing as part of our crowd control measure. Exit is allowed, said the tweet.

This order came after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a six days lockdown in the National capital. Following the orders from the Government. DMRC has also issued travel guidelines and announced that the metro services across the network will be available with a headway (frequency) of 30 minutes during peak hours in the mornings 8 am to 10 am and at 5 pm to 7 pm and with 50 per cent capacity.  According to the State Health bulletin, the total infection caseload has reached 8,77,146 with 76,887 active cases.
