he incident took place on Monday where two passengers with their dog, bound for Atlanta, opened the emergency door, activating the emergency slide to slip out of a moving Delta Air Lines airplane at LaGuardia Airport in Queens, New York.

The two passenger identified as Antonio Murdock, 31-year-old and his companion Brianna Greco, 23-year-old. According to the Port Authority police, Murdock’s post traumatic stress disorder was triggered on the plane. Both the passengers have been arrested in the incident and are charged with criminal trespass, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental administration.

Brian Plummer, an eyewitness to the incident said, “as the Flight 462 was taxiing out of the runway on Monday morning, Murdock ignored a flight attendant’s instruction to sit and stood up saying that he had post-traumatic stress disorder.” He added that Mr Murdock said, “If I sit down, I’ll freak out.” “He and his companion had also changed seats several times while the plane was preparing to depart,” Mr Plummer said.

The flight returned to the gate and other passengers were deplaned after the couple along with their large service dog retreated from the plane, according to the Morgan Durrant, Delta Airlines spokesman. “Maintenance technicians have evaluated the aircraft and is scheduled to return to service this evening,” Durrant said on Monday. Further no one was injured in the incident and passengers were accommodated on other flights.
