World Highlights

Europe is stepping up its support for Ukraine while also pushing its own peace plan with Russia. Leaders from 26 countries have pledged help, but only the UK, France and Estonia are ready to send troops on the ground. The latest talks focus on keeping any deal within international law and guaranteeing real security for Kyiv.

In the skies, an Air India Express flight overshot the runway in Karela during heavy rain, leading to a tragic accident. Rescue teams acted quickly, but many lives were lost. Investigations are underway to find out what caused the mishap.

Lifestyle & Issues

If you’re wandering the streets of India, the healthiest roadside snack you can grab is poha. This puffed‑rice dish packs protein, low calories, and a tasty flavor that keeps you energized without stuffing your waistline.

Living in India comes with its own set of challenges. Traffic jams feel endless, pollution can choke the air, and bureaucracy often feels like a maze. These everyday hurdles make life in big cities especially tough.

Hit‑and‑run incidents remain a big problem. Most of them go unsolved because there are few witnesses and limited evidence. New technology is helping a bit, but catching offenders is still far from easy.

Political talk is heating up, too. Amit Shah’s influence in Indian politics sparks debate—some see him as a strong leader, others worry about the impact on democracy. Questions about his future role, even the presidency, keep the conversation lively.

Whether you’re after a quick update on international affairs, a practical tip for your next snack, or a deeper look at Indian social issues, the News Portal tag has you covered. Check back often for fresh stories, and stay ahead of the headlines.

Supreme Court allows news portal to withdraw plea?

The Supreme Court of India has allowed the news portal, The Leaflet, to withdraw its plea which asked for the protection of its sources from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The Leaflet had sought protection for its sources in a case where the CBI had sought access to its data in regards to a case involving the Madhya Pradesh government. The Supreme Court, however, refused to grant protection on the grounds that the news portal had failed to provide details of the sources. The court allowed the withdrawal of the plea on the grounds that the CBI has not taken any coercive action against The Leaflet. The decision was welcomed by the media fraternity as an important precedent for the protection of sources and confidential information.
