ttarakhand's Char Dham Yatra has been temporarily postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation in the country. Meanwhile, the portals of the Badrinath temple in Uttarakhand have been opened today morning 4:15 with a religious ceremony. A limited number of people were allowed to attend the ceremony.

Tirath Singh Rawat, Uttarakhand chief Minister tweeted that, "Safety of public  health is our priority. I pray for the health of the people of Lord Badri Vishal. He also added that due to the Covid pandemic Char Dham yatra has been temporarily postponed. "I request all of you to perform prayers at your home", he requested the citizens.

According to officials, portals of Kedarnath temple were opened after a six-month winter break with the first puja held by priests on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Meanwhile, Yamunotri and Gangotri temples were opened earlier on 14 and 15 May. No pilgrims were allowed to visit any of these temples till further orders because of Covid-19 and only online darshan was offered.
