he Phase 2-3 clinical trials of Covid-19 covaxin, which has been approved by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), between the age group of 2 -18 years, will begin in the coming week, Dr VK Paul, Member, according to the NITI Aayog statement. Dr VK Paul stared that "I have been told that trials will begin in the next 10-12 days," on Tuesday during a press briefing on Covid-19.

This is the very first time drive in India that a trial of Covid-19 vaccine will be tested on children. The clinical trials involve two vaccine drive immunized on day 0 and day 28. The trials of vaccination will take place at many hospitals of all over The country like AIIMS, Delhi, AIIMS, Patna and Meditrina Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur.

India's drugs regulator has accepted the recommendation of the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) and given a nod to the manufacture of Covaxin named Bharat Biotech which is based in Hyderabad to conduct Phase II/III trial of vaccination process where it will be injection of Covaxin used for the age group of 2 to 18 years all over the country. The drive will be conducted on 525 healthy volunteers
