Centre to hold high-level meeting tomorrow, to take a call on CBSE, ICSE class 12 board exam

n Saturday, The Union Ministry of Education announced that a high-level meeting will be conducted tomorrow (23 May) with State, UT Education ministers, education secretaries to discuss the proposals for conducting of exams for Class 12 and entrance exam for professional courses. The meeting will be chaired by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank', Union Minister for Women and Child Smriti Zubin Irani and Union Minister Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javedkar.

The Education Minister wrote letters to states and UT's and stated that the Department of School Education and literacy ministry of education and CBSE are exploring options regarding the conduct of exams. He also said that the letter has noted that the Covid-19 pandemic has affected various areas including the exam sector, particularly the board and the entrance exam. According to the press statement given by the Union Minister of education  "As the conduct of class 12 examinations impact upon state board exams and other entrance exam across the country, and to reduce uncertainty among students, it is desirable that considered decisions based on inputs of different State Government and UT Administrations  is taken about Class 12 CBSE exam in the interest of all students across the country."

The Education Minister has also sought inputs from all the stakeholder-  student, teacher, parents and others through Twitter. Earlier he held the meeting with school education secretaries of all the states and UT's to discuss various measures adopted for the management of the education system during Covid-19.
