COVID-19: Maharashtra ambulance service receives over 9,000 calls daily

ndia is facing the worst hit of Covid-19  cases. Meanwhile, Maharashtra is an epicentre of Covid-19 cases. According to Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services, Pune, it said that it has been receiving over 9,000 phone calls per day for ambulance services. Dr Pravin Sadhale, Control room manager said that "we take 9,000 to 10,000 calls per day, including Covid-19  emergencies and others, he said that panic had increased now". He further added that earlier calls flow was for accident and pregnancy cases but now the maximum number of calls are for Covid-19 cases. He said that around 937 ambulances are placed across Maharashtra. The ambulance has all safety gears including PPE kits for Shifting the patients.

According to the state Health Ministry, on Tuesday Maharashtra reported 58,924 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
